 Death of the Linuxmobile?
by
Well, it appears that my old car is dead. I usually have to put a quart of oil in every other week to keep it running, but it must have started burning oil faster, because it went from full to not-a-drop empty in two weeks. I was stopped at a red light when the car died. It wouldn't turn over to start either. I pushed it off the road, then later in the evening, got a tow home from my pal Marc.

I haven't tried to get it running again, but from what I hear, when an engined seizes up like that, it's not trivial to get it fixed. So if my attempts to fix it fail (which will amount to pouring oil in and trying to start it), I will be giving it to the Kidney folks. Fitting, since this is the last year when you can claim "fair" market value on car donation tax deductions instead of the actual price fetched at auction, etc. So I'm keeping my eyes out for a junker to replace the Linuxmobile with. Anyone have a running 150K+ miles Civic, Corolla or Sentra they want to sell me for $50?
