| Our neighbor does concrete for a living and showed up with a pump truck and a concrete truck to pour our new patio in the back yard. Be sure to check our photos to see the long boom of the pump truck over our house. It was pretty cool. Then they poured the back section of the driveway. He'll be back to pour the side section of the driveway on Thursday.
Next, my boss, Beau came, then Karen's dad and my dad and Tom and Julie. We started putting all the parts together and gluing parts like crazy. I've never put together a sprinkler system before and I didn't realize what hard work it is. For lunch we had lots of hot dogs, polish sausage and hot links (the finest 3 products the meat industry has to offer). By the end of the day we had a large portion of the lines glued. On Monday evening I picked up where we left off on Saturday and almost finished gluing. Tonight, I repaired a leaky line and Karen worked all day long to put funny pipe and pop-up heads on all the lines. No wonder it's so expensive to have someone do your sprinklers for you. Now we just have to put on a few more heads and bury the lines. We don't have long since sod will be here on Friday. I'll be taking tomorrow and Friday off from work to get everything ready. With lots of help from Tom and Julie and Karen's dad, I think we might just be ready. |
