I don't care what the groundhog said, spring is here! You may not beleive it, but I proved it this very morning. In August I bought a new bike for the purpose of riding to work to get a little exercise every day. In November, it got too cold and I got too busy to keep riding so I put the bike away for the winter. Read on to hear about the end of winter.

| I got up bright and early this morning and got bundled up with two pairs of thermals and pumped up my tires. I took off thinking that I was going to freeze, but a few minutes into the ride, I was nice and toasty. It was an enjoyable ride with no ice and very little water on the roads. Thirty minutes later I arrived at work sweating like a pig. After stashing my bike in my office, I ran for the showers to cool off. So there you have it: I rode to work, and was too hot, so therefore spring must be here. Hooray!! So come March, when insurance renewal comes around, I'll leave the Linuxmobile off, and commute by bike all summer long. The only indicator that maybe it's not quite spring yet is this: there's no way I could have done it without the headband earwarmer that Karen got me for Christmas. And I promise I'll get some pictures and do a writeup of the new bike. If you haven't seen it, that's the least I can do for you. |
