 What is The Matrix?
by
We decided to watch The Matrix with the Fennimores, the Wikles and Justin for Christmas Eve. My buddy Dan recorded it off TNT and gave me a VCD copy that he made from his recording. We thought the movie was pretty good, and got some good laughs at the more hokey parts, but all in all, we enjoyed the fun SciFi movie. Kinda violent, kinda freaky, kinda cool. Nothing tops the coppertop!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings
by
Well, I feel like turning the old graduation counter into a countdown for the second Lord of the Rings movie that will come out next Christmas. The first one was awesome! We left Justin and Ryan with the baby and headed over to the Saturday matinée. Short review: very intense, very awesome! It was so intense that I thought Karen's grip on my hand would amputate my fingers a couple of times. Go see it (if you're into that sort of thing)!

 I'm finished with school!
by
The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived: I am finished with school. It's not official yet since grades haven't been posted, but I'm fairly confident that I passed all of my classes. Yipee! Now I can finally spend some time doing all of the projects that I've been putting off. And maybe we'll be able to do a sprinkler system and a lawn.

 First Birthday
by
Today was Lauren's first birthday and Thanksgiving! Lauren is starting to take several steps now, she'll be walking very soon! She had lots of fun getting new toys and playing with balloons. We taught her to blow out her candles and she did it! (photos)

This year we hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our home. We had a few family members and some friends come. The food turned out great and I think that everyone had a nice time!

 First Halloween
by
This was Lauren's first Halloween! She was a very cute ladybug. We went trick-or-treating to a few neighbors with some friends, then we visited the grandparents. Lauren had fun and didn't seem to mind her costume at all! There are a few pictures of her in her photo album.

 New Arrival
by
It's a piano! Some very kind friends gave us their old baby grand piano. It really needed to be tuned - for example, two of the B's sounded more like B flats! We tuned it a bit ourselves and it sounds pretty good. I'm hoping to learn how to play it!

 New Dreamcast System
by
K is going to kill me when she finds out! I found a used Sega Dreamcast System for $55 and couldn't pass it up. Maybe she'll forgive me if I buy Wetrix for her. :)

 Stained Glass
by
For my birthday my wonderful husband gave me tools for making stained glass projects! Today I finished my first project with my new tools! It took two and a half days, but I had fun! My family and friends shouldn't be surprised if they start receiving suncatchers and jewelry boxes for birthdays :)

 On the Road Again
by
Only 700 miles after the celebrated 250 thousand mile mark the Linuxmobile all but gave up the ghost. My cousin Eric brought it back to life by replacing the timing belt, water pump, oil-pan gaskets, front axel and front brake pads. JK1 is living the fat life of a two-car family again!

Spring and Summer Terms are Over!
by
Now that Spring and Summer terms have been conquered (some battles were closer than others :) all that stands in the way of my graduation is Fall Semester. The countdown to the right should give you an idea about how excited I am to be finished.
